Banksy

Banksy’s stencil graffiti - often satirical pieces of art that cover topics such as politics, culture, and ethics using objects such as monkeys, rats, policemen, soldiers, children and the elderly are beginning to gain popularity outside his native country of England. He has graphitised all across the world, most notably his artwork on the Palestinian side of the Israeli West Bank barrier. His work, of course, is highly illegal and would explain why parts of his identity are still unknown since his early activity dating back to the early 1980’s. It is believed however that he is a native of Yate, a town northeast of the city Bristol, where the majority of his works are completed.

More information and pictures can be found at his website.

While large galleries of his work can be found here and here.

Nike Claw Vandal Hi

I have alot of favourite things at the moment. Sneaker Freaker being one of them, Nike Vandals being another, particually the Nike Claw Vandal Hi being released soon.

Released earlier this summer, the limited edition Nike Claw Blazer was the first of a two-part collaboration between Nike and graffiti legend Claw Money. The highly anticipated follow-up to the Blazer, the Nike Claw Vandal Hi will hit streets October 27th. Claw, who has recently reinvented herself as a fashion designer, has a special connection with this sneaker: “I wanted to do the Vandal because it’s my favorite hi-top. And after all — I’m a vandal, too.”

Urban Camouflage

‘A vending-machine dress, the brainchild of clothing designer Aya Tsukioka, could offer a woman walking alone a way to elude pursuers.’  From the New York Times article, Fearing Crime, Japanese Wear the Hiding Place.

People Like Us

People Like Us Style have created some of my favourite iPod skins, or, what they call Styles. The inexpensive skins are made to suit 4th generation and iPod videos, along with 1st and 2nd generation nanos. No word yet on the new nanos, but knowing People Like Us they should be stocked with their next set of skins to suit the new iPod range. Find the styles here.
